The Poppy Project exists to lift people up. We believe in big dreams, bold ambition, and the power of backing yourself. We want people to take up space - to be proud of their hard work, their curiosity, and their drive.

In Aotearoa, we’re often encouraged to be humble - to keep our heads down and to not get too far ahead of ourselves. And there is real value in humility. But sometimes, it can make us hesitate and it can make us question whether particular spaces are really for us, or whether we’re allowed to aim as high as we want to.

At The Poppy Project, we want to gently challenge that idea. We want to encourage people to step forward - even when it feels uncomfortable - and to back themselves in spaces that might feel out of reach.

Our mission is simple: to make legal education more accessible in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Too often, law feels unfamiliar or out of reach unless you already have some connection to it. We want to change that by making legal knowledge more accessible.

We create learning experiences that help students build an early understanding of legal thinking, legal study, and the pathways into the legal profession. Our goal is to give students the knowledge and confidence they need to step into law school feeling prepared — not overwhelmed.
